DRIVER & RIDER HELP

Professional work begins with trust.

Carrying a passenger, a family meal or valuable goods creates responsibilities. Carry drivers and riders must be identifiable, appropriately authorised, traceable during work and accountable at every handover.

Zero tolerance for sexual misconduct, violence, threats, harassment or exploitation

Never make sexual comments, request personal contact, deviate from a journey for personal reasons, enter a customer’s home without a legitimate and agreed need, or use customer information after a job. Immediate danger should be reported to the police or appropriate emergency service first, then to Carry when it is safe.

BEFORE ACCEPTING WORK

Know what must be in place

Your identity

Use only your own verified profile. Your customer must be able to match your name, photograph, vehicle and registration.

Your driving authority

Hold the correct driving licence and every operator, taxi, council or route authority applicable to the service and location.

Your vehicle

Keep registration, fitness evidence, tyres, lights, brakes, restraints and required safety equipment current and serviceable.

Your insurance

Ordinary private-motor cover may not insure passenger or commercial delivery work. Confirm the actual use is covered.

Your screening

Complete the lawful identity, background, reference and integrity checks required by Carry for the work category.

Your phone

Keep the registered phone charged and available. Never lend a verified account or allow an unverified substitute to perform a job.

PASSENGER DUTY OF CARE

A passenger is not an ordinary parcel

  1. Confirm the passenger and destination through the platform before moving.
  2. Use the recorded route unless safety, traffic or the passenger requires a reasonable change.
  3. Never carry an undeclared person or make an unauthorised stop.
  4. Respect privacy, personal boundaries and any agreed accessibility assistance.
  5. Do not work while impaired, dangerously tired or using a handheld phone.
  6. End the journey in a safe place and record completion through the platform.
  7. Report complaints, threats, collisions, injuries and safeguarding concerns immediately.
VALUABLE GOODS & FOOD

Maintain custody from collection to handover

Check before leaving

Match the collection reference, package count, seal condition and recipient details. Record discrepancies before accepting custody.

Protect the load

Secure goods against theft, impact, weather and unauthorised access. Never leave valuable goods visible or unattended.

Preserve the evidence

Use required scans, timestamps, location events, photographs and recipient confirmation. Never fabricate a handover.

Keep food clean

Use clean load areas and sealed food bags. Separate food from passengers, animals, fuel, chemicals, waste and contamination risks.

Respect temperature controls

Do not accept chilled, frozen or regulated payloads unless the vehicle, packaging and monitoring are approved for that job.

Report exceptions

Stop and report broken seals, spills, suspected tampering, loss, delays, collisions or unsafe delivery instructions.

Traceable does not mean publicly exposed

Carry may record identity evidence, verification outcomes, vehicle details, job events and location while work is being performed. Access must be restricted, proportionate and retained only as required for safety, contracts, disputes and legal obligations. Criminal records and biometric information require heightened protection.

IMPORTANT LIMITS

Carry verification supports compliance—it does not replace it

  • Government and council authorities issue official licences and permits.
  • Insurers decide whether a policy covers the work being performed.
  • A completed check does not guarantee future behaviour.
  • Requirements can vary by vehicle, service, council and operating area.

Drivers should confirm current requirements with the relevant Zimbabwean transport authority, council and insurer before accepting paid work.
